Blackjack

Blackjack is a very cute, rambunctious, happy, little boy who had been found tied to a tree outside our vet's office. Normally the abandoned animals that are found outside their office are turned over to the shelter; however, there was just something about Blackjack that spoke to their hearts, so they held on to him, named him Montie, and then called us. Doc asked if we remembered all the favors he's done us and then asked if we could find BJ a home even if he wasn't a Chow. (Closest we can figure he is a Black Lab mixed with something or another.) BJ may not be a Chow, but he's laughingly been teased about beginning to look like one by both his vet and trainer.
We absolutely fell in love with this little boy, and it was a joy having him with us for the short time we had him. Blackjack got his name from his new parents who saw him one morning as we arrived at the store for adoption day. We hadn't even gotten into the store when they saw him and followed us into the store all the way to the adoption center. They decided that they wanted him to be a member of their family and filled out an application immediately.
That was on Saturday...Monday we went over to their home to do the home inspection. When we arrived, they were in the midst of tearing down their fence and putting up a new one for their new little boy. By Friday when we delivered Blackjack, the fence was complete, and his new mom and dad had already purchased all kinds of goodies and toys for him.
Since his adoption, Blackjack has gone on several "holidays" to the beach and the lake. At the beach, he had tons of fun digging in the sand and chasing the waves as they came in to shore. While digging, he found a cache of fish heads that had been buried by some fishermen, and just had to take his bounty to mom and dad to share. When at the lake, they discovered that he apparently loves to swim and knows instinctively to head for the shore.
Blackjack has already gone through his obedience classes and is a star pupil. He is a very smart little boy and is so very good. He obeys very well and doesn't even go up the stairs to the upper level of the house when told to remain downstairs so the cat can have some privacy.
