Byron

Byron
was found as a stray by a student in Durham, North Carolina. He is the sweetest dog, very gentle and
calm, though he has some fears about being around active dogs. His rescuer took him to the vet and found
out that he has heartworm disease, and is currently planning on treating
him. She would love to keep him herself,
but unfortunately, as a student, she cannot.
Byron’s
heartworm treatment will take at least two months, during which time his
rescuer is prepared to care for him.
However, she wants to find him a new home as soon as possible after he
is better.

Update 2/11/06:
Byron's heartworm is completed and he is now able to be active again and do all the things a dog deserves to do. He is no longer as nervous around other dogs, in fact, he loves to play with his rescuer's two all the time! He is approx. 3 years old and is completely housebroken. He is good with children and people in general. He is still one of the sweetest, most laidback, and well-mannered dogs Kelsey says she's ever met. He loves to give hugs, go for walks, and play with stuffed toys. He is wonderful in the car also. His rescuer says that she really can't say enough about him! But here is the problem...Kelsey must move soon, and she will no longer be able to offer Byron the sanctuary that he has come to know and trust. Time is extremely limited and Byron MUST find a new foster or his permanent home.
