Foxy

Foxy came to us at the PetsMart in Alexandria on our adoption day, 27 May 2000, brought in by her owner's grandchildren. Two weeks earlier Foxy's owner/Dad passed away. She had been with her owner since she was but a puppy of a few weeks of age. He had taken good care of her and loved her tremendously, so his loss was hard hitting to Foxy. The grandchildren were unable to keep her, so they brought her to us in hopes we could take her in. Unfortunately, we had no foster care facilities available; however, one of our adoptive families volunteers at the WARL shelter, working with all the Chows brought in. So, Donna took her to the shelter that afternoon after our adoption day.
Foxy is brought to our adoption days by Donna and returned there each Saturday. During the week, Donna and her son Michael go to the shelter and work with Foxy and the other Chows there.
UPDATE! One day one of the people who was interested in adoption of one of the puppies we had came in with their older Chow. As they were headed in the direction of the puppies, they were passing by Foxy where she and Donna were sitting. They never made it past her and to the puppies. They had put in an application with us, so we forwarded it to WARL on Foxy. All went well and they adopted Foxy! They love their Foxy girl who is the twin of their other Chow.
