Kodiak Bear

Kodiak who is approximately 3 yrs. old was found in the Laurel, MD area by a family that fostered him until they were able to get him groomed and situated in a no-kill shelter. The family has signed up with the shelter as volunteers so they can continue bringing him to our adoption days until we can find him a good home.
Kodiak is a friendly, albeit initially shy boy, who is a real lovey. He gets along well with the other rescue Chows at the adoption day, but will stand up for himself if met with aggression.
The couple who originally rescued Kodi from the streets one day asked the shelter if they could take him home for a sleepover to see how he would do with their fur family since he had been doing so very well with the kids at adoption days. Since all the fur kids of the household seemed to do alright, the couple decided to foster him until we could help him find a new home. Finally, one day they decided that Kodi would become a permanent member of their family, so we no longer needed to look for a home for him. We still get to see Kodi as his mom and dad bring him to adoption days from time to time for a visit.
