Maxie

We drove down to South Carolina to pick up two Chows on 5/21/99. As we have gotten several Chows from the Lenoir County Animal Shelter in NC, we decided to stop by and see their facility for the first time while in their area. While at the shelter, we saw three lovely kittens. Two of the kittens were in a separate room with a group of other kittens running around on the floor. They were very small, black and white Manx. Across from the room where the two Manx were was a crate with a little "tiger" that would reach out of the crate to grab us every time we passed by. It was such a cute, sweet little kitty, and we were totally smitten. We told the two ladies we work with that we would take the three kittens when we got back from picking up the Chows in SC.
While we were in SC, the ladies took the three kittens to the vet to get all their shots and first worming done. Upon our return, they met us with the kittens so we could take the wee ones back with us.
We named the tiger kitty Maxie, and the two Manx sisters Cindy and Charlie. One day a lady came in to the store and met our Maxie, fell in love with her, and wanted to add her to their household. We took her over to her new home to meet the rest of the family, and she did very well. She now lives with her mom, grandmom, and another feline.
