Midnight

Midnight is a red Chow discovered and rescued at midnight…hence her name.  In the light of day you can see just how shabby Midnight’s condition is.  Her coat doesn’t look to be in really bad condition, but she is extremely emaciated.  She is eating steadily, though not in large amounts.  Midnight appeared to have been injured in her rear quarters, but seems a little bit less painful on the rear end.  There are grease marks down both her front legs, so it looks like the pain is more than likely from a car strike.

At this point (not having done a close examination of her mouth as yet) it is believed that Midnight is a senior Chow, around 8 yrs old.  Her eyes have some of the milkiness that often happens with age.

Midnight is very inquisitive, wanting to watch everything you are doing.  Your hands can be run all over her and she does not appear to have any sensitivity to being handled in any way.  She grumbled a bit at the gentleman when he tried to her crate the first day, so it was left to her female rescuer to take her out walking.  That appears to have been only a small sense of insecurity she was experiencing after her ordeal as she's been very friendly toward him since.  She now goes right up, sniffs his pants, and likes him to pet her.
