Dr.Pitcairn's new updated edition is without a doubt, one of the most useful books in market place. I feel any pet owner should have copy in their library and refer back often. We have placed our Borzoi on the natural diet and I am impressed with results. Since we breed Borozi, we are always looking to increase the quality of each animal. Feeding this diet does just that. They are happier, have more vitality, increase coat growth and the pigment in the coat is deeper. I also appreciate the work that went into the vaccination section and we have changed our protocol for vaccines in our kennel. Thank You! I would appreciate any way to get more information on the subject of vaccinations and thyroid disorders asw ell as immune problems caused by 'over vaccinations'. I feel this is very true and many animals could easily do with less vaccination. Finda vet in your area who is willing to follow the guidelines in this book. "A Lot of Helpful Information Here
I bought this book about 2 years ago and I am very pleased with it. I started making my own cat food as suggested and I solved a chronic loose stool problem that wasn't even helped with perscription pet food from the vet. The recipes are very detailed and I like that. He really explains exactly what you need to make the food and gives a lot of choices and substitutions. This is the first holistic pet book I would recommed to someone wanting information on holistic pet care. I find it more reliable because it is written by a vet rather than a layperson."

Great book for novice dog trainers. As the owner of a very hyper 3 year old dog, I found this book to be very informative. Ms. Fields-Babineau explains all steps in an easy to follow manner which will give the trainer and the dog confidence as they build their relationship. This is a great book for anyone looking to make their dog a part of their family, not just a pet. If these training methods are followed, an owner will assit their dog to grow into a confident, well mannered, and well behaved part of the family. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy to follow, confidence building training experience."

Excellent basic book. We have two very energetic Australian Shepards. This book was an excellent choice for home training. We follwed the instructions and procedures. The results were wonderful. It is a pleasure to walk with our dogs now. The recomendation of the Halti collar helped greatly. The methods suggested are all positive reenforcement using praise and love. I have recomended this book and the halti collar to our friends. The use of the knee to stop the dogs from jumping was completly misunderstood by the previous review. I quote from the book "For dogs that are insensitive to the aural reprimand-or if you simply do not have your pennycan with you-then you must either push off or knock your dog down as he jumps up. Do this with your knee in his chest on his way up or with your hand if he is already on you. Always say "NO!" when pushing him off." A simply method in which you are placing your knee in the dogs way not kneeing him as you may think. I highly recommend this book for the information, methods, and equipment it suggests."
