Muzzy was found as an 8 mo. old puppy that had been abandoned in a neighborhood in Woodbridge. He is a very sweet little Chow/Yellow Lab mix who is really great with kids. He doesn't like going potty in the open, wanting to only go at the edge of the woods or bushes.

Muzzy's owners moved one day and left him to run the streets of the neighborhood. A neighbor took pity on him fearing that he would end up hit by a car, took him in, got him the only shots he's ever had in his life, and fostered him until we could find him a good home.

Muzzy had been raised outdoors and apparently had been disciplined severely when attempting to enter the house, as he was afraid to go indoors, but adjusted nicely. However, when we tried placing him with a family, his having lived outdoors shone through. The first day he escaped out the door when one of the children opened it. The second day he jumped the 4' fence and took a romp. The third day he tore through the screen of the screened in porch to escape for another jaunt. So, on the fourth day he was returned to us.

The next week a couple came in to our adoption day and it was love at first sight. He was in the crate when they were passing by and saw him. We took him out for them to see him and Muzzy was his ever-sweet self, endearing himself to them immediately. They are a young couple just starting out and wanted to find a dog that would make a good companion for their Dachshund and be child friendly for the future.

We took Muzzy to his new home that next Friday to meet his new brother, Odie the Dachshund and the parrot. Odie and Muzzy hit it off immediately. His new family adores him and they are very careful that he doesn't escape.
