Oliver

One day our vet called and asked if we remembered all those favors that he has done us. Immediately we knew that he needed us to do something for him...hmmmm...wonder how we ever knew? ;-} At any rate, it seems that that very morning when one of his staff arrived at the office she found a Chow/mix puppy tied up to the front door of the office.

The girls in the office decided that since he was an orphan they would name him Oliver in honor of Oliver Twist. We drove out to the office that day, picked him up, and took him to our adoption days.

A gentleman and his girlfriend came by one day and wanted to adopt Oliver, but as we always say, adopting one of our kids is not for everyone because of the rules we have. So, Oliver stayed within our system for a while longer until one day a family came by and wanted him. But again, it was decided that Oliver would remain with rescue to find a home. Finally, a lady came by our adoption day with her daughter, fell in love with Oliver and his sweet ways, and put in an application for him.

We took Oliver for his home inspection and to meet the rest of the family. Being his normal sweet self, Oliver quickly won over the entire family. That week we delivered Oliver to his new home where he was much loved and cherished. He settled into his new family very well and was not only wonderful with their children, but the children in the daycare.

Unfortunately, during the summer of 2001, the family found that their circumstances made in impossible for them to keep Oliver anymore and felt it was best for him to return to us so we could find him a new home where he could get the love and attention that he deserves. Therefore, we began seeking a loving family where he could have a home of his own once again. In August of 2002 we finally found that perfect new home for Oliver. One day a young lady came into the store, saw Oliver, and fell in love with our beautiful baby boy. They now live happily in their lovely home in Washington, D.C. not far from another one of our past rescues, Mindy. They see one another from time to time in the park and walking along the streets of their neighborhood.
