Rio

1/22/00

Black, approx. 9 mo. old male. Very sweet little boy. He came from a lady in Norfolk, Va. who while out walking one day had him come up to her and follow her home. The lady tried to see if she could find the owners by running an ad in the local paper, contacted the local shelters, and put up flyers to no avail. She thought that someone had lost Rio because he was so well mannered and seemed to have had some obedience training. She wanted to keep him herself and had him for three weeks when her father said she needed to find him a home. So she called our rescue associate in that area for help. She turned him over to them, they took him to their vet, and he check out OK. The day he was neutered, the rescue associate went to see him through. They spent a lot of time together that morning. They played a while and then we had some quiet time, he sat on her lap, loving and kissing her, and was very contented. As they had taken Chelsea and Rio to the vet on the same day, they have been kept together, trying to foster friendship between them, as they were to travel to No. VA together. Upon their arrival, they have been kept together in the same run. Chelsea was a little aggressive at first, but is now working out fine. He did well with the vet staff, but apparently doesn't like cats.
