Teddy

Teddy is a Chow/Samoyed female, born April 13, 2003. She is Red, and weighs 45lbs.  Teddy is in excellent health, all her vaccinations are up-to-date, and she has healthy gums and teeth.  Teddy is a lucky girl as she has never been mistreated.  Although she has had no basic training, she is completely housetrained and barks when people come to the door.  Her diet presently consists of dry food, with fresh chicken, fish, and calves liver added in.

Teddy is very stable emotionally.  She is moderately sociable with visiting friends.  She has a lovely personality--intelligent, alert, patient.  Teddy waits calmly if her master stops to talk with someone during a walk.  She is not dominant toward family members, and is friendly with the resident adult Labrador.  Teddy has lived with her present family since January 2004.  She is presently taken for one hour walks everyday.  At least four times during the day she goes out into their yard for 15-minute outdoor breaks.  Other than that, she is strictly an indoor fur child.

Teddy’s present family believes she has great potential as a search and rescue dog or for some other kind of work, as Teddy seems to be a good problem solver--she quickly untangles herself when the lead wraps around her legs during a walk.  She once ran off with a 20-foot leash attached to her harness, got caught up in a bush, then chewed her leash apart to free herself.  If she needs to go potty when they are asleep, she will wake them.  Teddy is an affectionate dog, looking for a new home.   If you are interested in Teddy, please contact us at chowrescue@cox.net.
