Wesley

May 2000
My name is Wesley and I am a 2-year-old male Chow Chow. I am very friendly & playful. I love to ride in the car. I've had all my shots and I am neutered. I'm also housebroken!
Well that was how it started out. Wesley was being boarded at a kennel, as we didn't have any foster care facilities available. One day one of our adoptive families asked if they could try him out at their house for a bit to see if he would get along well with their Bubba. They decided that it was going to work well, so they kept Wesley as a foster, bringing him to adoption days at the store in Alexandria.
When they were headed off on a vacation, they were going to board Wesley back at the kennel once again, but when it came time to leave, they decided to let their family baby-sit the kids for them, including Wesley. When they got back we expected them to return to the adoption days shortly. But one week led into another and we didn't hear from them. By that time we figured something was afoot…we'd seen this happen before. And then one day, as happens more often than most may believe, Wesley's foster mom and dad came to the adoption day to say they were going to be keeping Wesley. They had fallen in love with the big boy. The two fur kids get along really well with each other and the cat. The boys love running around their yard playing chase when they aren't laying about the house like a couple of "Chow puddles".
